About Gulf Breeze Natural Gas
Gulf Breeze Natural Gas has been a service of the City of Gulf Breeze since 1964. This service is available to most homes and businesses located in the Gulf Breeze peninsula between the south end of the Pensacola bay bridge and Shannon Road. See more about the service area.
Our mission is to provide safe, clean, efficient, reliable energy to our customers at the lowest cost. Gulf Breeze Natural Gas continues to rank as the public utility with the third fastest growth rate in the State of Florida. Our growth rate for the past two years has been 7.4% per year. We serve 3,075 residential customers and 146 businesses. Gulf Breeze Natural Gas also maintains an excellent safety record. The utility continues to pass Florida Public Service Commission safety inspections without violations.
Super Energy Man!
Super Energy Man is the official spokesman for Gulf Breeze Natural Gas. His job is to create public awareness of natural gas as America’s Super Energy. The actual man in the Super Energy suit is Harrold Hatcher, who has managed our marketing and safety programs for over 20 years.
Over the years Super Energy Man has become such a fixture in the community that we are thinking of starting up a Super Energy Man Fan Club. Let us know what you think of the idea.
Connecting to Natural Gas
We look forward to providing you the very best customer service. Just follow these easy steps to get connected:
- Call Customer Service at 934-5108 to find out if a gas main exists on your street or if a main can be extended to your home.
- Pay a $50 deposit and a $25 set-up/turn-on fee. These are the standard fees; in some cases, higher fees may apply. Confirm the amount of your fees with Customer Service at 934-5108.
- Have your plumber take out the necessary permits to install your interior gas piping, venting, and appliances.
- When piping and appliances have been installed, call or have your plumber call Santa Rosa County Inspections at 981-7000. Upon inspection and approval, the inspector will affix a final inspection sticker.
- Your plumber must request Santa Rosa Inspections to notify us at 934-5108 that the final inspection has been made.
We recommend that you call us at 934-5108 to verify that we have received notification from Santa Rosa Inspections; at the same time, you can make an appointment to have your gas turned on and your appliances lighted, if applicable.
AN ADULT MUST BE PRESENT when the gas service is turned on. If no one is home for the first appointment, there will be a fee of $25 per call for subsequent service calls.
Billing Information
The minimum charge for gas service is $ 6.00 per month within the City of Gulf Breeze limits and $ 7.00 per month for customers outside the city limits.
Billing begins upon the installation of your gas meter.
